The lanes around Challock and Westwell run through beech woodland with tight bends and steep banks. Flint is the constant here — it works up out of the chalk, sits in the gutter, and cuts rather than punctures.
Down towards Sellindge, Smeeth and Aldington the roads flatten and straighten, and the failures are faster and more sudden. Wye has a village centre and a station car park, both easy places for us to work.
