Is the number really answered at three in the morning?
Yes, and it is the same number as the daytime one. Nights are half the reason this business has the name it does. If you are stopped somewhere dark on the A21 or sitting on a drive in Riverhead with a flat and an early start, that is an ordinary call here rather than an out-of-hours favour.
What do you need from me before you can quote?
Three things: what the vehicle is, what has gone wrong, and the nearest thing you can see from where you are standing. A district code is plenty for the location. You get a figure before anyone sets off, and it holds unless what we find is not what you described.
How far out from Sevenoaks do you come?
Sevenoaks is the middle of it. The ground runs north through Bromley, Orpington, Dartford and Bexleyheath, south through Tonbridge and Royal Tunbridge Wells, east into Medway and Maidstone, and out as far as Canterbury, Ashford and the Sussex coast. Every district has a page on this site with the places inside it. The far edges are a longer drive and you will hear that on the phone, not afterwards.
I am stopped on the M25 near junction 5. What first?
Hazards on, everyone out on the nearside and behind the barrier if there is one, then ring. Do not stand between the car and the traffic and do not walk the carriageway looking for a marker post. Give us the direction of travel and the last junction you passed and we will find you from that.
Can a tyre be changed properly in the dark, at the kerb?
It can, with lighting, a level place to put a jack and the right torque wrench at the end of it. What cannot be done properly at the kerb is a repair the casing will not support, or a wheel that is cracked. Where that is what we find, you are told so and we stop, whatever hour it is.
Will you fit a brand I ask for?
Where we can get it, yes, and it is worth asking. Most of what rides on the van is the ordinary sizes the cars around here take. If the exact make you want is not on board, you will be offered the nearest equivalent and told plainly that it is not the thing you asked for.
How does paying work?
Card or bank transfer, once the job is done. Say which you are using at the booking so nobody is caught out on a driveway at two in the morning. There is no separate call-out fee bolted on after the fact.
Are you part of a national network?
No. One base, one set of vans, no franchise and no call centre. The person answering has driven the A21, the A25 and the M25 junctions either side of Sevenoaks, which is why you get a straight answer about the run rather than a promise from a script.
